Molecular Genetics

Molecular Genetics is defined as the subfield of biology that focuses on the certain genes that influence certain behaviors. In this field of study, it is already known that no one gene affects a certain behavior, but groups of genes do. With this knowledge, scientists around the world have teamed up to discover the roots of genetic disorders such as depression, schizophrenia, and aggressiveness. Also, scientists have been able to develop technology that can alter genes before a child is even born. Some genes such as sex and color of eyes have recently been able to be changed using molecular genetics.
