Question Thirteen:

When considering Wilson High School’s social environment, peer pressure is inevitable because of the presence of the ‘cool groups’ at Wilson High School, which realistically includes a bunch of teenagers who do all the things that are improper in a school environment or just illegal. Children, who are "grade-driven" or dress differently, have often been at the ones receiving ridicule. Indulging in unsafe sexual practices, alcohol, drug abuse, and smoking are some of the activities that are a part of the peer pressure phenomenon at Wilson High School. Peer pressure is the desire of the children to be perceived as "cool" in order to belong to a particular group. Loss of individuality can be the biggest setback anyone can suffer due to peer pressure. It is very important for children themselves to realize that it is never about changing one's self; it is about being a part of the group and yet retaining your individuality
